Bonkers in Bocas

Our casita is absolutely amazing, surrounded by lush vegetation, guarded by two soppy dogs sleeping on the porch, a giant fridge and oven and a wrap around veranda with a huge hammock.

However, there has not been any time for real lazing around. By the time we figure out how to do our homework each day, make dinner from a crazy collection of ingredients (ready, steady...what can we do with a plantain?) and cycling to and from school , the day is gone. Probably not helped by our urge to be in bed at 8pm, mmm still on a bit of London time. Hopefully by next week all will be easy peasy. Right now Spanish es muy dificil and our brains are feeling the strain!

Did I forget to mention, it’s gorgeous, our ride to school is along a glorious bay and we are lucky devils?!

So far me being on a bike has been surprisingly uneventful (i’m regretting typing that already), bar eating more than my fair share of flies it’s been great.

Peace in Panama?!

Our departure from London did not go quite as smoothly as planned, in fact it was so rushed we were amongst the last to run on to our flight (having stopped for coffees admittedly). The flight was a pure pleasure – 8 hours of sitting on our backsides eating, and watching movies. We were almost sad to arrive!

Panama City was a bit of a blur as we were so tired, we managed to get out of our hostel to have a brief look around but a return visit with more energy and more Spanish is now on the agenda.

After paying a slightly embarrassing amount of excess to get our luggage on to the small plane to
Bocas we finally flew across to start part one of our trip proper.

We were taken straight on a shopping trip for supplies, but far too tired to make any sensible purchases we came away with a pineapple, some pasta and some ice cream. To be fair that plus some coffee is all either of us need!
